Like previous games, several Pokémon have the Pickup Ability. This Ability allows for the Pokémon to randomly pick up items. The items vary based upon the level of the Pokémon. Like previous games, Pokémon X & Y continue the road of having its own encounter table, though this table matches the one from Pokémon Black 2 & White 2. In addition to the usual feature, when a hold item is used in battle, if a Pokémon with PickUp doesn't have a hold item, it will pick up that item.
