Like the previous games, Pokémon X & Y includes several alterations to music. However, for the first time ever, the music can be customised in some circumstances

In a variety of places around Kalos, you can speak to people and they will change the music of the game temporarily. This changes the music to be music of a past game, or allows you to select a variety of pieces

When you go to battle a friend, if you set the game up, you can also select Music. You start off with four pieces, but as you battle more online, you unlock more pieces of music. This can all be controlled by tapping the bottom screen as you prepare for the battle
