Gyms
Like with most Pokémon games, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl have multiple gyms spread across the region. These gyms each have a focused type with the Pokémon or their moves focusing around that type. Defeating them allows for you to progress towards the next gym.
This page is to detail all the gyms, and the Gym Leaders and their Pokémon.
Gym 1: Oreburgh City - Roark |

Location: Oreburgh City Gym Leader: Roark Specialty: Rock-type Reward: Coal Badge, TM76, Roark's Stickers The first gym is in Oreburgh City. After fetching Roark from Oreburgh Mine, you will be able to face the gym. This gym has no special puzzle but rather just a couple of trainers that you can bypass over bridges. At the end, you'll face Roark who uses Rock-type Pokémon. Defeat him for the Coal Badge, 5 TM76 (Stealth Rock) and the Stickers that he uses on his Pokémon. The Coal Badge allows for use of Rock Smash in the overworld through the Pokétch

Gym 2: Eterna City - Gardenia |

Location: Eterna City Gym Leader: Gardenia Specialty: Grass-type Reward: Forest Badge, TM86, Gardenia's Stickers The second gym can be accessed as soon as you get to the city. This gym has a puzzle where Gardenia won't battle you until you have defeated all the other trainers in the gym. Each trainer appears in order and gives a hint as to the location of the rest. Once defeated, Gardenia will battle you with her Grass-type focused team. Defeat her for the Forest Badge, TM86 (Grass Knot) and the stickers she uses on her Poké Ball. You can also use Cut outside of battle through the Pokétch

Gym 3: Veilstone City - Maylene |

Location: Veilstone City Gym Leader: Maylene Specialty: Fighting-type Reward: Cobble Badge, TM60, Maylene's Stickers Maylene can be battled as soon as you get to Veilstone City. This gym has a puzzle where you have to move various boards around in order to create a path to Maylene, battling trainers along the way. When you get to the end, you can face Maylene who uses Fighting-type Pokémon. Defeat her for the Cobble Badge, 5 TM60 (Drain Punch) and the stickers she uses on her Poké Balls. You can also now use Fly outside of battle using the Pokétch

Gym 4: Pastoria City - Crasher Wake |

Location: Pastoria City Gym Leader: Crasher Wake Specialty: Water-type Reward: Fen Badge, TM55, Wake's Stickers The next gym is south in Pastoria City. This gym can also be accessed straight away and features a simple linear puzzle where you have to make your way through the gym by raising and lowering the water level, defeating trainers as you go. At the end you will face off against Crasher Wake's Water-type team. Defeat him for the Fen Badge, 5 TM55 (Brine) and the stickers he uses on his Poké Balls. You can then use Defog outside of battle

Gym 5: Hearthome City - Fantina |

Location: Hearthome City Gym Leader: Fantina Specialty: Ghost-type Reward: Relic Badge, TM65, Fantina's Stickers The Hearthome City Gym is actually the third gym you will come across, but you won't be able to access it until after you have completed the Veilstone and Pastoria Gyms, and spoken to Fantina outside the Super Contest Hall. In the Gym, there's a simple puzzle where you read a sign and get a simple maths question. Enter the door that corresponds with the right answer and you'll move to the next floor, take the wrong door and you'll face off against a trainer. At the end is Fantina and her Ghost-type team. Defeat her for the Relic Badge, 5 TM65 (Shadow Claw) and the stickers she uses for her Poké Balls. You can also now use Surf outside of battle on your Pokétch

Gym 6: Canalave City - Byron |

Location: Canalave City Gym Leader: Byron Specialty: Steel-type Reward: Mine Badge, TM91, Byron's Stickers The sixth gym can be accessed as soon as you reach Canalave City and is run by Byron, Roark's father. This gym has a puzzle of finding a path by utilising various small elevators and moving platforms in order to get to Byron, facing trainers along the way. At the end, you'll face Byron and his Steel-type team. Defeat him for the Mine Badge, 5 TM91 (Flash Cannon) and the stickers he uses to decorate his Poké Balls. You can then use Strength outside of battle with your Pokétch

Gym 7: Snowpoint City - Candice |

Location: Snowpoint City Gym Leader: Candice Specialty: Ice-type Reward: Icicle Badge, TM72, Candice's Stickers When you first reach Snowpoint City, you can go to the gym. In this gym, you have to clear a way to Candice by sliding down the various platforms of the gym, destroying snowballs as you go. This is done by sliding on ice panels and using other snowballs and trainers to bounce off. When you reach Candice, you will have to battle her Ice-type focused team in order to get the Icicle Badge, 5 TM72 (Avalanche) and the stickers she uses on her Poké Balls. You can then use Rock Climb outside of battle

Gym 8: Sunyshore City - Volkner |

Location: Sunyshore City Gym Leader: Volkner Specialty: Electric-type Reward: Beacon Badge, TM57, Volkner's Stickers The final gym is found in Sunyshore City. When you first enter the city, the Elite Four member Flint will introduce himself to you and explain that the Gym Leader has lost the passion and needs his passion reignited. Go find him at the lighthouse and he'll be convinced to have one final battle, else he'll take on the league himself. The Sunyshore Gym requires you to make paths by rotating various gears with platforms on, battling trainers along the way. When you reach the end of the Gym you will face off against Volkner and his Electric-type move focused team. Defeat him to get the Beacon Badge, 5 TM57 (Charge Beam) and the stickers he uses on his Poké Balls. You can also use Waterfall outside of battle.
