Mega Evolutions

Mega Evolution was first introduced in Pokémon X & Y and provides a special evolved form of the Pokémon to activate in battle. This brings stat boosts, type changes and ability changes. The feature is not available in Sun & Moon until after the main story, when Dexio gives you a Key Stone to activate it. Unfortunately, not all Mega Evolutions are available at the moment but the following Mega Evolutions are available either natively or when the Pokémon can be transferred as their Mega Stone is available in the game.

There have been some mechanical changes. First, the turn order is now determined based on the Mega Evolution's Speed and ability in the turn it Mega Evolves. Secondly, if Rayquaza knows Dragon Ascent and is holding a Z Crystal, it cannot Mega Evolve.

Primal Reversions

Primal Reversions were introduced in Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire and provide a Mega Evolution like transformation to Legendary Pokémon. However, they do not take up the Mega Evolution slot in your party.
