Shiny Pokémon |
Shiny Pokémon, having existed in the games since Pokémon Gold & Silver once again make a return in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, and they appear shiny in the overworld! However, as always there are a few tweaks. The standard rate remains at the general 1 in 4096. Pokémon in the Let's Go Auto Battle cannot attack Shiny Pokémon This game also continues with having the special method for increased odds when breeding. This means if you breed two Pokémon of different language origins together, you will have an increased chance of them being shiny The Shiny Charm also makes a return in the game. After completing your Pokédex, you will get given the Shiny Charm which gives an additional two rolls at getting a Shiny Pokémon. There are, however, two new methods for obtaining Shiny Pokémon within the game |

Mass Outbreaks |
Mass Outbreaks make a return in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. Each day, you will have various Mass Outbreaks spawn throughout Paldea and you can go to them to face the Pokémon. Each Mass Outbreak holds around 120 Pokémon before it disappears and, if you catch or defeat the Pokémon, your Shiny chances for that Pokémon will increase temporarily. Once between 20 and 30 Pokémon are defeated or captured, you will have an increased chance of 1 additional roll. Once an additional 20 to 30 Pokémon are defeated or captured, you'll have a total of 2 additional Shiny Rolls. Other methods that despawn them do not count Click here for details on Mass Outbreaks |

Meal Powers |
Meal Powers are the second way of improving Shiny Odds. When you have unlocked 5 Star Tera Raid Battles, you will start earning the Herba Mystica items. These items, when used in Sandwiches, can grant Sparkling Power which increase Shiny rates for a specific type based on the ingredients used in the creation of the Sandwich. This will last for 30 minutes but only affects wild encounters, not eggs or Raid Battles. This stacks with the Mass Outbreaks As of The Indigo Disk, there is also a purchasable Menu Item in the Cafeteria of the Blueberry Academy for 150 BP that gives a Sparkling Power Level 1 without any Herba Mystica required. |
