Mass Outbreaks |
Mass Outbreaks have made a return in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. In these games, early on you will get notified of the Mass Outbreaks appearing in your game. You will be able to see them on the map where they'll have a ? if they're a Pokémon you haven't seen yet, or a Pokémon's icon if it is one you have seen. Every day you will get new Mass Outbreaks, and you clear them out by defeating or capturing the Pokémon. The Pokémon you get are random, but you have a small chance of Pokémon from the current area you're in being in Mass Outbreaks every time the game shifts the Outbreaks. When you approach a Mass Outbreak, you will get a notification every 20-30 Pokémon you defeat that the outbreak is reducing. When you have reached around 100-120 Pokémon defeated, the Mass Outbreak will end. This can be done easier with the Let's Go feature, even without worry as the Let's Go feature will not attack Shiny Pokémon |

Shiny Chances |
Like with prior games, Mass Outbreaks also feature increased chances of being Shiny. Once between 20 and 30 Pokémon are defeated or captured, you will have an increased chance of 1 additional roll at a chance of being Shiny. Once an additional 20 to 30 Pokémon are defeated or captured, you'll have a total of 2 additional Shiny Rolls. Other methods that despawn them do not count |
