Iron Island is a small island in the middle of the ocean between Sinnoh and Full Moon Island. This island used to be an ore mine, but got abandoned as a mine when resources got thin. Instead, it is now used as a training ground for various trainers. Upon your first entry, a trainer called Riley will request your assistance in getting through the area creating a variety of Double Battles and will give you a Riolu egg. At the end, you will encounter Team Galactic. In Platinum, at the very end of the cave, you will find an extra cave called the Iron Head Ruins, which will open up and contain Registeel if you have a special Regigigas.
