Today marks the fourth entry into the Generation V competitive field with a fan favourite Pokémon. These entries are created by the visitors for the visitors and then compiled by our writer Reno. A new dub title was revealed by the Cartoon Network Schedule. This is the episode title for the first episode of Black & White and the 660th episode total. This episode features Ash and Professor Oak travel to the Unova region. This episode is to be called In The Shadow of Zekrom! and is scheduled to air on the 12th of February. Pokémon Typing DS Release Confirmed
During the investor meeting of Nintendo Japan today, details on Pokémon Typing DS were revealed. This DS game, which comes packaged with a Bluetooth keyboard which connects via Bluetooth in the game cart, is due for release in Japan in April 2011. This game is the first spin-off game of the 5th Generation. Not much is known about the game yet, but we'll bring more details on it as and when it comes but they also promise it'll be challenging for adults. Our friends at the Official Nintendo Magazine UK have got their hands on the new DSi consoles coming to tie in with the release of Pokémon Black & White on March 4th. Thes especial DSis come packaged with the games and include a special Reshiram & Zekrom print and in the UK are exclusive to GAME. The rest of Europe is also set to get these DSis.

Pokémon Black & White - Gym Leader Names
Sorry for the delay in this update. The official Cartoon Network website has updated with the US names of Iris & Dento, the two characters who join Ash in his journey in the anime. Iris keeps her Japanese name but Dento has a name change in the region to Cilan. These name changes also are the same within the games; Pokémon Black & White

Pokémon Black & White New - New WiFi Event Active
For those of you with the Japanese Black & White, the new WiFi Event featuring a Pokémon based on Ash's Zuruggu has just begun on. The event is to last until February 10th. This Zuruggu is Level 1, to match the anime Pokémon and comes holding the Muscle Band. The Event Database has been updated with the details of this event
In addition to this, the new C Gear skins based on Piplup & Croagunk are now live on the Global Link website. These are based on Dawn & Brock's Pokémon and are to tie in with the specials airing next week.

Pokémon Black & White New - New WiFi Event
In the new issue of the MCV magazine in the UK, the first details of the first Black & White WiFi event have been detailed. The event allows for the download of the Liberty Pass item which lets you go from Castelia City to Liberty Island to capture the rare Pokémon Victini, which is now confirmed to keep its Japanese name. This event is scheduled to run in Europe from March 4th 2011 to April 22nd 2011. In addition to this, the Liberty Pass is to be given at various retailers in a Black & White tour across the UK. US release details of Victini have yet to be given but are likely to match this giveaway.

Pokémon Best Wishes - US Airdate
The Pokémon Company International has just sent out an e-mail stating various plans for the year dealing with the launch of Pokémon Black & White. Included in this is the announcement that the first two episodes of the Pokémon Black & White anime are to air in the US on February 12th at 9am on Cartoon Network, one week after the Diamond & Pearl episodes end and three weeks before the launch of the games. These two episodesmark the beginning of Ash's journey within the region of Unova. We'll bring more details, including dub titles, as and when we can. Pokémon Diamond & Pearl - Zoroark: Master of Illusions
The latest Pokémon movie, Zoroark: Master of Illusions has been given a firm US airdate and airtime according to the TVGuide schedule. According to the TV Guide, it is due for airing on February 5th at 7pm Eastern & Pacific/6pm Central following an airing of the movie; Giratina & The Sky Warrior. It's best to check your local listings for your specific times. This movie is the first movie to feature Pokémon from the upcoming games; Pokémon Black & White and feature a man trying to control the Pokémon Zoroark and its illusions. Another new episode title has been revealed for one of the next episodes in the new Pokémon Best Wishes series by Dengeki. This episode is scheduled to air on February 17th 2011, following a one week break for a Naruto special and features Ash & co. meeting another Pokémon Sommelier who is checking the bond between Pokémon and trainers.

The Nintendo 3DS
Nintendo's conferences in both Europe and America have begun and have revealed the dates of the upcoming console; the Nintendo 3DS in each region. This console is the next iteration of Nintendo's handheld and featurees enhanced graphics with the capability of stereoscopic 3D imagery without the need for glasses. Future Pokémon games are to be released on this handheld.
In North America, the 3DS will be released on March 27th 2011 and will cost $249.99.
In Europe, the 3DS will be released on March 25th 2011.

Pokémon Best Wishes - US Name
The official site has updated with the announcement of the Ash's Pikachu event in Toys 'R' Us in America (Running from January 30th to February 13th) and with that update, they have announced the new series of the anime where Ash goes to Unova is coming and gave the name. In Japan, the show is called Best Wishes which plays upon the initials of Black & White as well as the Japanese name of the region. In America, however, the anime series is simply to be called Pokémon Black & White. We'll bring more details on its airing as and when we can.

Pokémon Black & White - Dream World Furniture + US Item/Feature Name
Following the commencment of the Dream Castle Global Link Event, which allows the Dream Castle to be obtained in the Dream World, we have noticed that instead of just the castle, it also allows for several new bits of furniture to be used within your Dream World house. In English name news, the new issue of Nintendo Power in America, the February issue, has announced that the Live Caster, the feature for video chat in the games through the use of the DSi, DSiXL or 3DS, has been given the name of; Xtransceiver (pronounced as Cross Transceiver). This feature is also utilised in-game in a similar means to the PokéGear in HeartGold & SoulSilver to allow you to keep in contact with your rivals, Professor Juniper and your in-game mother

A few weeks ago, I began and went live with several new enhancements to the Unova section of Pokéarth, which is spearheading a new look in the section which will be gradually implemented throughout the year. Today, with special thanks to my friend Alpha, I have updated all the trainer information for the trainers in Unova to include details of what kind of battle it is, sprites based upon gender & forms as well as inclusion of abilities of the Pokémon and finally, hold items on the various Pokémon. Pokémon Black & White New - New WiFi Event & Global Link Events
The official site has updated with new details on a new WiFi event to take place at the end of the month. To tie in with next week's episode which features the hatching of Ash's Egg, a Zuruggu is to be distributed over the Nintendo WiFi Connection from January 28th to February 10th. This Zuruggu is Level 1, to match the egg and comes holding the Muscle Band
In addition to this event, they have announced that the special fan designed Dream World House is now available for download in the Global Link until Valentine's Day. To top that off, from January 27th 2011 to March 30th 2011, you'll be able to download some special C Gear skins featuring Piplup and Croagunk to tie in with the upcoming anime specials which feature Dawn & Brock

Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold & SoulSilver - WiFi Event
Following Tuesday's announcement of the giveaway of the Shiny Beasts over WiFi for Europe, the official site has updated with the various dates of these Pokémon. Like the Gamestop release in America, these WiFi events are to be staggered and seperate and will each last one week;
Raikou: February 7th 2011 to February 13th 2011
Entei: February 14th 2011 to February 20th 2011
Suicune: February 21st 2011 to February 27th 2011
You can download each Pokémon only once per game. Once again, these beasts, when sent to the Black & White games give access to Zoroark. It is not yet known if America will also receive these events, but based on past events, it is very likely.

Victini & The Dark Hero Zekrom
With thanks to Shellspider for the images, we can confirm that the new movie's full title is Victini & The Dark Hero - Zekrom (ビクティニと黒き英雄ゼクロム). However, despite this, with thanks to Sabonea Masukippa for translation, CoroCoro asks "What is Zekrom's connection to the Dark Hero?", indicating that there is still more to come. This movie is due for release in Japan on July 16th. To tie in with this, CoroCoro has also announced that Victini will be distributed knowing the special move V-Generate which previously could not be learned by any other Pokémon. Distribution details have yet to be announced. CoroCoro promises much more information on this new movie next month

Reuniclus (in Japan; Rankurusu),
Cofagrigus (in Japan; Desukan),
Drilbur (in Japan; Mogurew),

Musharna keeps its Japanese name
With these Pokémon names, various abilities and moves also got announced;

Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold & SoulSilver - WiFi Event
The press release regarding yesterday's revealing of the European Dates has been posted and contains several new details including details on a new WiFi event due for release in Europe. Nintendo has announced that starting on February 7th 2011, the shiny legendary beasts (Raikou, Entei & Suicune) will be receivable over the Nintendo WiFi Connection for Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold & SoulSilver. At the moment, we don't have details on when this event ends, nor on how they'll be distributed; whether they'll be staggered like the US Gamestop events or whether they'll be like the Mystery Egg event that just ended in Japan. If you didn't already know, these Beasts, when sent to Pokémon Black & White, give access to Zoroark.
In addition to this, they also announced that Europe will also be getting Celebi soon, but didn't provide further details. We'll provide more details on these events, the end date, and whether they will be available on US games as well, as soon as we can

The details on the European launch of the new games; Black & White have been revealed today by our friends at the UK Official Nintendo Magazine and will be further confirmed in a press release later today. This date, having been darting about in rumour for the last week or so, is March 4th 2011 marking a first, having Europe get the games two days prior to America, a first for the main series Pokémon games. Pokémon Black & White - World Hobby Fair Giveaway
The official site has updated with details about the Zoroark being given away both at the World Hobby Fair, and over WiFi. Over WiFi, from February 15th 2011 to March 14th 2011, you'll be able to download this special Zoroark which knows the move Bark Out, a move currently unobtainable by other Pokémon. The Event Database has been updated with details on this Zoroark

Pokémon Black & White - Wi-Fi Event Reminder
For those of you with the Japanese Pokémon Black & White, the current Wi-Fi event allowing for the download of one of three eggs ends on Tuesday. This event gives you a special Pidove, Pansage or Kibago based upon the Pokémon owned by Ash, Dento & Iris in the Best Wishes anime. You can only get one egg per game and it's random so get while you still can

Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs - WiFi Missions
For those of you with the American or European version of the game; Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs, four of the WiFi missions are due to end this Tuesday. These four missions are the four which allow for the transfer of Deoxys, Manaphy, Shaymin & Heatran to your Generation IV games. While these missions require you to be at a certain point in your game to play, they can be downloaded at any time so get them while you still can. Dub Episode Title
A new dub title was revealed by the official site. This is the episode title for the thirty-second episode of this season and the 657th episode total. This episode features the semi-final of the Sinnoh League and has Ash face Tobias and his seemingly unbeatable Darkrai. Over the past day, I have been enhancing various pages within the Black & White section as per some of the suggestions which have been sent in. These including fixing images, including a bit more in-depth information and more. Pokémon Black & White - Game Mechanics - Varied Stat Moves
In the games, moves have always been based on Physical or Special stats. In the new games however, several moves were created which used a combination of both Special and Physical stats in order to calculate the damage. As such, I have created a Game Mechanic page based upon these moves and what alternate moves & items can affect them

Who's That Pokémon
Once again going into the 4th Generation Competitive Battling strategies, we are covering our one-hundred & ninety-ninth Pokémon and unfortunately, the last in the fourth generation strategies.
Starting next week, we'll be covering the Pokémon in the 5th Generation battling environment. However, some of these sets will be applicable to fourth generation strategies for Pokémon between Bulbasaur and Arceus. There is a different creation mechanic to this new Pokémon of the Week. From now on, the Pokémon of the Week is to become a collaboration effort where our writer Reno will post the upcoming Pokémon on the forums and it'll be discussed and everyone can suggest sets or strategies for the Pokémon in all four aspects of battling in the fifth generation.
