Goldenrod City is a large town on the westcoast of the mainland of Johto. This city houses various buildings including the Goldenrod Underground, the Radio Tower and the Global Trade Terminal which allows you to trade various Pokémon. It is also where Bill lives when in Johto. This city also houses the Department Store of Johto and the Magnet Train which connects to Saffron City. Finally, it also contains a flower shop, where you can purchase mulch, get the Berry Pots and the Squirtbottle.

Game Corner
The game corner in Johto is located within this city and contains the special Voltorb Flip game, where you flip various cards to try and get as many coins as possible

Name Rater
Located within this city is the Name Rater who will aid in the changing of the names of the Pokémon you have caught

Special Photos
In every evening, if you have her phone number, Whitney will appear in the top of the Department Store and will allow for a photograph to be taken with you and your lead Pokémon

Gym
The Goldenrod City Gym is the third gym of the Johto region. This gym has you travel through a maze which matches the shape of Clefairy until you reach the Gym Leader; Whitney. Earning the Plain Badge allows you to use HM04; Strength outside of battle
