Sandshrew
Sandshrew is A.J.'s #1 partner as its biggest advantage would have to be being able to take hits from water and not be affected by it. This is due to the tough bodily training Sandshrew has undergone, including diving in a pool and emerging back up while keeping itself in shape. Sandshrew shares a deep bond with A.J., similar to Ash and Pikachu, and is willing to help its trainer reach his goal.
