WiFi Competitions
Within the Global Link, there is the special Wi-Fi Competitions option. From time to time, various special competitions will run which have you use your Pokémon in battle against others. This runs akin to the Random Matchup mode and has you gain points based upon your defeat of other trainers, or lose points if you are defeated. They tend to last four days and are selectable in the Battle Competition part of the main menu, using Pokémon you need to register in your Battle Box.

2013 Global Showdown | |
Region: International The 2013 Global Showdown is another Single Battle tournament and so has you use 3 of your 6 Pokémon. This tournament is the final Black 2 & White 2 competition to be open worldwide. It contains no Pokémon restrictions allowing you to use any Pokémon you desire. |

2013 International Challenge - June | |
Region: International The 2013 International Challenge - June is another Double Battle tournament and so has you use 4 of your 6 Pokémon. This tournament is the third for Black 2 & White 2 to be open worldwide. Like the previous International Challenge, doing well in your region will result in points earned for your VGC campaign and a potential "bye". |

2013 Spring Friendly | |
Region: International The 2013 Spring Friendly is a Single Battle tournament and so has you use 3 of your 6 Pokémon. This tournament is only open to players internationally and restricts usage to Pokémon within the Unova Pokédex with no further Pokémon restrictions |

Japan Cup 2013 | |
Region: Japan The Japan Cup 2013is another Double Battle tournament and so has you use 4 of your 6 Pokémon. This tournament is only open to players within Japan and allows for the top players to earn themselves a place within the Japanese national World Championship Tournaments. As such, it uses standard VGC rules |

Region: International The 2013 International Challenge - March is another Double Battle tournament and so has you use 4 of your 6 Pokémon. This tournament is the third for Black 2 & White 2 to be open worldwide. Pokémon NicoNico Championships 2013 | |
Region: Japan The Pokémon NicoNico Championships 2013 is another Double Battle tournament and so has you use 4 of your 6 Pokémon. This tournament is only open to players over 18 within Japan and allows for the top players to earn themselves a place within a real life tournament. As such, it uses standard VGC rules |

Kanto Cup | |
Region: Japan The Kanto Cup is a Single Battle tournament that is to bring the classic battles of Red & Blue to the fold. It only allows Pokémon from the Kanto Pokédex, with the exception of Mewtwo and Mew. It is split into three divisions; Juniors, Seniors and Masters. |

2013 Winter Friendly | |
Region: International - No Japan or South Korea The 2013 Winter Friendly is the first Rotation Battle WiFi Competition outside of Japan and has no Pokémon restrictions at all. It's open to all players except those in Japan and South Korea and divides into two divisions; Masters and Juniors/Seniors. |

Christmas Cup | |
Region: Japan The Christmas Cup is another Double Battle tournament and so has you use 4 of your 6 Pokémon. This tournament is the first to feature only one Pokémon in the Banned Pokémon list, allowing you to use legendary Pokémon from every generation of game.. |

VGCS Winter Battle | |
Region: Worldwide bar Japan & Korea The VGCS Winter Battle is the first international WiFi tournament for Black 2 & White 2 and is another Double Battle tournament and so has you use 4 of your 6 Pokémon. The top 128 North American and top 128 European players will earn the Championship Points while the Top 16 North American Players will receive a "bye" for the Video Game Championships, European seperation of the top trainers has yet to be determined. |

Eevee Cup | |
Region: Japan The Eeve Cup is the first ever Wi-Fi Competition to be a Rotation Battle tournament and so has you use 4 of your 6 Pokémon. This tournament is to tie in with recent promotions of Eevee and its evolutions and as such, only allows entry of those 8 Pokémon. |

Pokémon Center Cup | |
Region: Japan The Pokémon Center Cup is the first ever Wi-Fi Competition to be a Single Battle tournament and so has you use 3 of your 6 Pokémon. This tournament is to tie in with an in-store tournament and helps promote a special giveaway of a special Dragonite, Scizor, Tyranitar, Metagross and Garchomp. |

All-Star Cup | |
Region: Japan The All-Star Cup was the first Wi-Fi Competition that had no Pokémon restrictions within its band of Pokémon. Allowing for all 301 Pokémon within the Unova Pokédex, it allowed for the use of various cover Legendary Pokémon and Mythical Pokémon. |

The Beginning Cup | |
Region: Japan The Beginning Cup was the first Wi-Fi Competition for Pokémon Black 2 & White 2. This competition allowed for the use of all Pokémon from within the Unova Pokédex barring legendary and Mythical Pokémon. |
