Max Battles & Power Spots |
In September 2024, the Max Battle feature was introduced. This feature allows for you to battle in special Max Battles with Pokémon that are on top of Power Spots. These battles can only be completed using Pokémon that are capable of Dynamax, which themselves can only be obtained through Special Research or Max Battles This is all done through a special new currency needed to complete Max Battles called Max Particles, which you can obtain up to 800 a day for free from Power Spots or by walking. |

Power Spots |
Power Spots are special points of interest that will spawn around the map separate from Gyms and PokéStops. These can appear at a variety of different locations and will last for several days before disappearing. When you interact with them each day, you can get 100 Max Particles from each Power Spot, with a bonus 20 if it is the first time you visit it After completing a Max Battle, you also have the ability to put a Dynamax or Gigantamax Pokémon at the Gym in order to accrue Max Particles. After completing, you can put one of the Pokémon in your party into the Power Spot to earn Candy. This will also give other trainers a special bonus when they later do the Max Raid. The more Pokémon there, the larger the attack bonus the later trainers get. The more Pokémon placed in, the higher the chance of encounters around the Power Spot. |

Dynamax |
With Pokémon that are capable of Dynamaxing, you will have an extra screen that shows their various moves. Each Max Pokémon can have one Max Move, such as Max Strike, as well as access to Max Guard which reduces damage from attacks and Max Spirit which will heal yourself and allies These Max Moves can be powered up by using Max Particles as well as the Species Candy and Species Candy XL until they hit the Max level. The attacking move is based on the type of your Pokémon's Fast attack Dynamax capable Pokémon are still able to be used in all other aspects of the game but cannot Dynamax within it. You also cannot transfer your last Dynamax capable Pokémon. |

Max Battles |
At Power Spots throughout the map, there will be Dynamax Pokémon to battle in Raid Battles. These battles can be completed by up to 4 players at once and differ from standard Raid Battles in that they are local only and are turn-based. Each battle has got a set amount of turns and so youhave a set amount of moves to use in the battle and you can only use Dynamax capable Pokémon During battle, you will battle as normal within raids to accumulate energy to fill the meter in order to Dynamax all Pokémon. Once Dynamaxed, you then have three turns in Dynamax in order to do massive damage. When not Dynamaxed, you can dodge attacks but cannot dodge Max Moves from Dynamax Pokémon. Max Battles have no time limits and will continue until the Pokémon is defeated or all players have lost their Pokémon Each Max Battle requires Max Particles to complete but those will only be taken if you win.
The Six Star Max Battles are against Gigantamax Pokémon. Gigantamax Pokémon have special G-Max Moves and cannot be sent to Pokémon HOME. |
