Pokémon Sword & Shield
Today is the Pokémon Direct. At 14:30 UTC / 09;30 EST / 06:30 PST / 23:30 JST a roughly 20 minute Direct detailing various Pokémon game news will air. We will be live posting every reveal from the Direct as it happens so be sure to keep checking back. Below you will find the live stream so you can watch.
Edit @ 14:31: Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX has been announced. Remake of the original games but include Mega Evolution. The game releases March 6th with prepurchase and a demo available today

Two DLC packs: Isle of Armor & The Crown Tundra
New Pokémon: Kubfu a Fighting-type Legendary that evolves into Urshifu with two forms. Available in Isle of Tundra. Calyrex a Psychic/Grass Legendary
New Galarian Forms: Slowpoke, Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres
New Gigantamax: Venusaur, Blastoise, Rillaboom, Cinderace, Inteleon
More than 200 Pokémon from the past appear in the DLC. These free updates allow for those previous Pokémon to appear through Trades etc.
Galarian Slowpoke will be available today in a free content update. Evolves into Slowbro in Isle of Armor and Slowking in The Crown Tundra
The Expansion Pass is available to preorder today. Contains special outfits as a bonus for prepurchasing

Pokémon Movie
The trailer for the next movie has aired on Japanese variety show, Oha Suta. This trailer showcases a forest with a person dressed in rags going in it, swinging from tree to tree. Ash is stunnedas he hears around the forest. It cuts to a shrine and there's a baby there. The movie is called Pokémon the Movie Coco

The new Wild Area event has begun. During this event, Gigantamax Flapple, Alcremie and Coalossal will be found more often in Pokémon Sword and Gigantamax Appletun, Alcremie & Lapras will be found more often in Pokémon Shield. Pokémon Mystery Dungeon
During the Pokémon Direct, a new Pokémon Mystery Dungeon game was confirmed for the Nintendo Switch. This game is a remake of the original Pokémon Mystery Dungeon game which was released on the GameBoy Advance and Nintendo DS. It is out March 6th 2020

Pokémon Sword & Shield
The next online competition has been announced. This competition, Galar Newcomers, is a Double Battle competition that only allows Pokémon that were discovered in the Galar Region as well as Galarian Forms. It will not allow Zacian or Zamazenta. You can use Gigantamax Pokémon. Download Rules are also now available for this competition.
Registration is open now until January 30th 23:59 UTC. Battles will run from January 31st 00:00 UTC to February 2nd 23:59 UTC. All players get 50 BP
Edit @ 09:29: At present there's a discrepency between the English and Japanese notes. The Japanese event note states registration runs from January 16th through January 23rd 23:59 UTC with battles January 24th through January 26th 23:59 UTC. We don't know which is accurate but as registration is not yet open, we're going to try and get further information
