Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon - Shiny Necrozma
A new event has been announced for Japan. This event offers a Shiny Necrozma, previously unobtainable. Players who have pre-ordered Sword & Shield and are part of the Japanese Secret Members Club will receive the code from September 6th 2019 through November 14th 2019 due to membership reaching a certain level. No further details on the Necrozma distribution such as level or moves have been revealed. Our Event Database has been updated with the details of this event

On Saturday, we posted that there is to be world exclusive news in the Pokémon anime episode airing in Japan on Sunday. However, today a news site accidentally posted what may be details of this reveal early. This showcased the Pokémon anime logo that has been used with the movies Pokémon I Choose You and Pokémon The Power of Us in Japan and showcased each generation's starters around it with the caption "Pokémon - TV Anime new series". It is then said that the full reveal of this will be on September 29th. At present, this is unconfirmed, but we'll provide full details as they come so be sure to keep checking back

Pokémon Rumble Rush has announced Version 1.3.0 which will go live as of the maintenance on September 4th which runs from 06:00 UTC to 09:00 UTC. This update adds the next stage as well as a new feature: Daily Stages.
Once a day, the Adventure Clubs will send you recommended stages to play that you can play at no cost or by using your Poké Diamonds. These stages guarantee capture of the Boss Pokémon. There are also changes coming to the Plenty of Pokémon set on the shop

The Pokémon Company have officially revealed all of the standard cards for the next Pokémon TCG Set. This set is called Alter Genesis and will release in Japan next week on September 6th. Ahead of the main launch later today, expected around 06:00 UTC, Pokémon Masters has now started to go live, with Android stores globally now listing the game. With this, we're updating our section with the new elements so keep checking back
First a new balance update now exists. Replay Ticket requirements have gone down from 2 to 1 for each area. Evolution sync Pair Stories have also increased requirements from 1 to 5 Evolution Shards and 1 to 3 Evolution Crystals

You'll get Lunala in Sun & Ultra Sun and Solgaleo in Moon & Ultra Moon. Lunala is Lv. 60 and know the moves Moongeist Beam, Psyshock, Moonblast, and Moonlight. and Solgaleo is Lv. 60 and know the moves Sunsteel Strike, Zen Headbutt, Noble Roar, and Morning Sun. The first details of the Pokémon Trading Card Game's Sword & Shield saga have been revealed through retailer listings in Japan. First is the Pokémon Starter Set V which are five collections of cards in a deck featuring various Pokémon V cards. This is due for release November 29th.
Next up is the first Sword & Shield set. In Japan these are separated into two sets simply named Sword and Shield respectively. They are due for release on December 6th 2019 and will contain 60 cards each.
Following that, the first expansion set has been revealed for Sword & Shield, labelled as S1a. This set is called V Rising and will contain at least 70 cards. It is due for release on February 7th 2020 in Japan

Niantic have announced the next details of the Ultra Bonus event in Pokémon GO. While we received basic details on this last week, more details have been unveiled:
Week 1 (September 2nd to September 9th): Unown, U, L, T, R & A will hatch from 10km Eggs, Raikou Entei & Suicune will appear in Raids and Sentret & Gligar can be shiny
Week 2 (September 9th to September 16th): Farfetch'd, Tauros, Mr. Mime and Kangaskhan will be in 7km eggs and can be shiny (and will remain until the end of Week 3 of the Ultra Bonus Event). Deoxys will be in Raid Battles
Week 3 (September 16th to September 23rd): Mewtwo will appear as a Raid Boss and will be able to be Shiny, Klink, Patrat and Lillipup will be available and as Shiny

Tickets are now available to purchase for the Pokémon GO Safari Zone in Montreal. This event runs from September 20th through 23rd and features spawns of Tropius, Unown and Yanma. They can be bought through the official site.

Pokémon Sun & Moon - TCG Set Announced
The Pokémon Company have officially announced the next Pokémon Trading Card Game set in Japan and have started revealing cards for it. This set is called Alter Genesis and will release in Japan on September 6th 2019. As such, our card listing and the associated Cardex have been updated with the details of this set with translation help from Riyu.

Niantic have announced the next Pokémon GO event. This event is the Water Festival 2019 and runs from August 23rd through August 29th. It includes increased Water-type sapawns inclding more Pokémon spawning around Water. Water-types will appear more in eggs and Kingler/Crawdaunt will have Crabhammer. Finally, shiny Carvanha and Barboach will be added. There is also 2* Hatch Candy and halved Buddy Candy with Water-type Buddy Pokémon
On Wednesday, August 28, 2019, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time, you’ll be able to encounter Uxie, Mesprit, or Azelf in five-star raids in their respective regions!

September 2nd - 9th: Increased Johto Pokédex Pokémon and Pokémon previously unobtained in Eggs will be in eggs
September 9th - 16th: A Mythical Pokémon will be available in raids
September 16th - 23rd: Unusual Pokémon will appear in Raids and Kanto Pokédex Pokémon will appear in the wild

This week has been the second Pokémon GO Global Challenge of the year to coincide with the Pokémon GO Fest in Yokohama and with it, all players were to complete research to reach the goals. Niantic have confirmed that the goals have been met which means that starting 20:00 UTC Tuesday August 13th, for a week, there will be triple capture stardust, triple hatch stardust, guaranteed 3000 stardust from raids and 1 hour durations on Star Pieces. It also means that there will be a special Suicune Raid Day on August 17th.

The next special Group Match has begun on Pokkén Tournament DX. From August 9th through August 11th, you can participate in the "Psydisaster" Group Match. This cup is a Basic Battle competition, once again on a Fixed Battle Arena. Niantic have announced the next Pokémon GO Community Day on September 15th will focus on Turtwig. This event will 3* Capture Stardust and has 3 Hour Lure Modules. However, it will also give out an as of yet unannounced special move to Torterra. We'll bring more details as they come.

Niantic have announced the next real life Pokémon GO event. This is the Safari Zone in Montreal, Canada. It is a ticketed event that takes place from September 20th through 22nd and focuses on Pokémon that evolve into fast Pokémon. With this, Yanma will also spawn more globally.

A new patch is starting to rollout for Pokémon GO on Android with an iOS release expected later. This patch brings the game up to the internal version 0.151.0 and contains a variety of fixes. First is a new Egg Hatch animation. Second, the game now puts in suggested teams for battles against Team GO Rocket. Following the release of the Special Preview Version in Singapore two weeks ago, the Special Preview Version of Pokémon Masters is now live in Canada on Android devices. This version contains the first 13 Chapters and 60 Sync Pairs. Progress in this version will carry over to the full version upon its release worldwide on iOS and Android which currently has a tentative August 29th release date.

The Pokémon GO Fest Dortmund 2019 Tie-In event has begun worldwide. This event features the increase in spawns of Poliwag and some other GO Fest focused Pokémon, with Shiny Poliwag now being available worldwide as well as unique Field Research for the event. In addition to this, the special hat Pikachu are starting to spawn worldwide
With this, the GO Global Challenge has begun. From now until 09:00 UTC on August 12th, players have to get:

Team Instinct-Complete 25 million research tasks globally to unlock guaranteed 3,000 Stardust per raid

A much requested feature for this site has been the mobile friendliness. Over the last couple of years, we have been working hard between game releases and news cycles to produce a mobile variant of Serebii.net. This variant is part of a responsive layout that adapts to mobile resolutions so you can get the same Serebii content on desktop or mobile in a readable format. This layout works exactly the same as the desktop layout with the standard navigation on the left, accessed by the hamburger icon and the in-section navigation on the right accessed through the right hamburger icon
This is a staggered rollout which is only in a few sections at present but will expand more and more through the most used sections of the site over the coming weeks and months. It has started with the Generation VII Pokédex, the Sword & Shield Section, and the Pokémon GO Section, with more coming soon which won't be announced, just go live
As this is a staggered rollout, there may be bugs here and there so be sure to let us know if there are any bugs you spot or things you think need improving.

The next Pokémon GO event has begun. This is the Gift Event and features daily gift openings at 30 rather than 20, 20 gifts to carry rather than 10, all 7km eggs now are 2km eggs and Bonsly and Sudowoodo can be shiny as of this event. This runs until August 19th at 20:00 UTC

Niantic have announced that, at Pokémon GO Fest Yokohama which begins tomorrow, as it ties in with the Pikachu Outbreakchu event, Pikachu wearing specific hats from the past will start spawning globally. This is the Flower Crown, Summer Style, Party Hat, Original Cap, Witch Hat, Detective Pikachu and Santa Pikachu. This runs from 01:00 UTC on August 6th through to 08:00 UTC on August 12th

Niantic have announced the next Pokémon GO event. This is the GO Fest Yokohama tie-in and features increased spawns of Poliwag. With this it can be found as a Shiny. It runs from 01:00 UTC August 6th throughout the GO Fest Yokohama period this week. As usual, we've created our special event section for this event

Pokémon GO - Community Day
Today marks the Pokémon GO Community Day. On this day, for three hours in each region, Ralts will appear, enmass, in Pokémon GO with a chance of Shiny Ralts appearing. During this event, when you evolve Kirlia into Gardevoir or Gallade, it will know the move Synchronoise, which is exclusive to this event. This can be done for a further hour after the event. This coincides with 4* incubator effectiveness and 3 hour Lure Modules. This runs at these times:

Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! & Let's Go, Eevee! - Mewtwo Distribution
The latest Pokémon Let's Go event has been announced for the UK. To tie in with the release of Unified Minds today, it has been announced that from August 9th through to September 6th at Smyths Toy Stores in the UK & Germany, PicWicToys in France, a Level 70 Mewtwo with all its AVs and the moves Amnesia, Psychic, Teleport, Recover will be distributed through Serial Code. We'll provide more detials on International distributions as they come so be sure to keep checking back.

Niantic have announced the next Pokémon GO event. This is the Gift Event and features daily gift openings at 30 rather than 20, 20 gifts to carry rather than 10, all 7km eggs now are 2km eggs and Bonsly and Sudowoodo can be shiny as of this event. This runs from Monday August 5th at 20:00 UTC to August 19th at 20:00 UTC

Pokémon Sword & Shield
It has been confirmed that the Pokémon Sword & Shield demo, recently at E3 and the Pokémon International Championships, will be playable at Insomnia65 in Birmingham, UK from August 23rd through August 26th. This demo will be of Nessa's Gym and feature the new Pokémon Yamper and Impidimp.

It has been confirmed that during the Community Day on Saturday, there will be special Raid Battles taking place during the time featuring Ralts in addition to Ralts appearing more in Eggs

Today marks the release of the eleventh Pokémon Sun & Moon TCG set: Unified Minds. This set contains 258 cards of various Pokémon including various Pokémon-GX & Pokémon Tag GX. It is made up of the Miracle Twin, Sky Legend and GG End packs from Japan. Our card listing and the associated Cardex have been updated with the details of this set

Niantic have announced more Pokémon can now be Shadow Pokémon: Poliwag, Grimer, Muk, Drowzee, Hypno, Cubone, Scyther, Magikarp, Houndour and Houndoom can now all be Shadow Pokémon with Ralts said to be coming soon. It is also confirmed that Shadow Pokémon can't learn Community Day moves but they can if they have been purified before evolution.

Pokémon Championship Series
The CP details for thge Pokémon 2019/2020 Championship series has been announced. The CP requirements to get to Worlds are the same as last year for all divisions on both formats except Masters for TCG which is now down to 500 CP. With this, there has also been a change to the Best Finish Limits:
Regionals and Special Events now have a Best Finish Limit of 6, down from 8 the previous year
VGC Midseason Showdowns have a Best Finish Limit of 6 per year through any series
Premier Challenges have a Best Finish Limit of 6 per year through any series
League Cups have a Best Finish Limit of 8
League Challenges have a Best Finish Limit of 8
In addition to this, VGC has been confirmed to run through series again. VGC's first Autumn Series runs from September 1st 2019 through November 10th 2019 but later series have not been announced or confirmed

Pokémon GO has now opened PokéStop Submissions for Level 40 players within the country of Portugal. This follows on from being released in various countries including the majority of South America, as well as Taiwan over the past few months. Further countries in the rollout have yet to be announced

Pokémon Sun & Moon - Episode Title
A Japanese TV Guide has revealed the next episodes of the Pokémon Sun & Moon anime. These episodes are due to air on August 11th, August 18th and August 25th. The first episode features the conclusion of the Top 8. The second episode features the start of the Semi Finals and the third episode features the battle between Ash and Guzma.
