The Pokémon Day event has been announced for Pokémon GO. From February 26th at 21;00 UTC to February 28th at 21:00 UTC, Pokémon from Kanto will appear more commonly and in raids. Pikachu and Eevee wearing floral crowns will be available in the wild and through some unique Field Research, and Shiny Rattata & Pidgey will be available

The Pokémon Smeargle is now live in Pokémon GO. When using GO Snapshot, Smeargle will sometimes photobomb your photo. When you exit out, Smeargle will be in the wild and ready to catch. With this, there is a new Photo Bomb badge for every 10, 50 and 200 encounters.

A new Pokémon GO Special Weekend has been announced for Japan. On April 6th, Chikorita & Totodile and the Unown N, Y, T will spawn in greater numbers for people who have obtained a ticket at Tsutaya and Ito En stores and on April 7th, Unown S, Unown V and Cyndaquil will spawn in greater numbers for people who have obtained a ticket at 7-11 stores. You need to obtain a ticket in order to scan in to the PokéStops around Japan during the event to access the rare spawns.

To coincide with the Mobile World Congress 2019 event in Barcelona, Spain, in which Niantic is taking part, a small event has started around Barcelona. During the event which runs from today until February 28th, the Sinnoh Starters Turtwig, Piplup and Chimchar have increased spawns, 4 hour long Lure Modules and there is double Stardust for everything including Captures and Adventure Sync. There are also new PokéStops around the event

On his Instagram, Ryan Reynolds has confirmed that tomorrow, a new trailer for the upcoming movie, Detective Pikachu, is to be released. This trailer was recently rated by various rating agencies and runs for more than 2 minutes. We'll post the trailer as soon as it comes so be sure to keep checking back

A new change has been implemented in Pokémon GO. From now, when you get rewards for Trainer Battles, you will now also have a chance at getting a Fast TM and a Charge TM in addition to the Sinnoh Stone, Rare Candy and Stardust rewards that currently exist
