Starter Pokémon

Like with previous Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games, this game has you play as a human who has been turned into a Pokémon. To start the game, it gives you a quiz of many questions in order to determine which Pokémon you are and then offers you that Pokémon based on responses. However, unlike the original game, you can then decline that Pokémon and select your own choice. Following that, you can also select and name your partner, the Pokémon that will follow you through all the dungeons in the story
