Niantic have announced the next Pokémon GO Community Day will be on January 19th 2020 from 11am to 2pm local time. At present they haven't confirmed the Pokémon that will be the Community Day focus

Niantic Japan have announced a esports collaboration at the upcoming Tokyo esports Festa in Tokyo on January 11th. At this event, there will be a special Pokémon GO competition with entry applications now open. This is a Get & Battle tournament which has you get unique Field Research. The top 16 players who clear the most field research during the event move to a Great League tournament
