Pokkén Tournament DX - Downloadable Content
The latest patch for Pokkén Tournament DX is now live. This patch adds the first wave of Downloadable Content characters of Aegislash and Support Pokémon Mimikyu & Mega Rayquaza, along with new clothing items and a new outfit for Nia. With this patch, various fixes and additions have come to the game including Video Capture using the Nintendo Switch's capture button and various bug fixes. We're currently cataloguing all of the changes and additions so keep checking back

Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon - Battle Competition
Details for the next Battle Competition have been announced. This is the Ultra Sinnoh Classic competition. This is a Single Battle competition using rules where players can only use Pokémon that were in the Sinnoh Pokédex. No Alola Forms, Mega Stones or Z-Crystals are allowed. Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Phione, Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin and Arceus are banned. All Pokémon will be raised to Level 50 for the duration of the competition. Registration runs from February 15th 2018 to February 22nd 2018. Battles will run from February 23rd through February 25th. All entrants will get the 50 Battle Points.

Pokémon Shuffle - Events
A few brand new challenges have begun on Pokémon Shuffle and Pokémon Shuffle Mobile.
First is a Mega Lucario competitive stage. This is a competitive stage that runs until February 6th 2018
Next is a new Mewtwo Escalation Battle stage which runs until February 23rd 2018
Finally, the Tapu Bulu, Tapu Fini stages have begun a repeat run
In addition to this, Mewtwo, Suicune and Pikachu (Fired Up) are being distributed to all players

Pokkén Tournament DX
During EVO Japan today, Pokkén Tournament DX's upcoming update, which also adds Aegislash to the game, was fully detailed. This update is due on Wednesday January 31st includes various balance patches for the various playable Pokémon but also includes a brand new feature. The patch will allow for Pokkén Tournament DX to have the last 30 seconds of gameplay recorded using the Nintendo Switch's capture feature. We'll provide more details of the patch on Wednesday when it hits so be sure to keep checking back.

Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon - Battle Competition
Battles for the next Battle Competition have begun. This is the 2018 International Challenge January competition. This is a Double Battle competition using standard VGC rules, with players being able to earn CP to go towards qualification for the World Championships.. All Pokémon will be raised to Level 50 for the duration of the competition. Battles will run from January 26th through January 28th. All entrants will get the 50 Battle Points.

Detective Pikachu
As previously announced, the Detective Pikachu amiibo unlocks the special Pika Prompts, small clips of Detective Pikachu found in every chapter of the game, even if you don't personally activate them. However, the Nintendo UK Store has put out a note with some clarification to the amount of Pika Prompts you can get. It specifies that there are over 150 unique Pika Prompts in the game. Pokkén Tournament DX
The next special Group Match has been announced on Pokkén Tournament DX. From February 9th through February 12th you can participate in the Psyfirecracker Group Match. This cup is a Basic Battle competition, once again on a Fixed Battle Arena. Participating in this brings a special title reward based on Braixen, and if you place highly you'll get other titles based on your placement.

The Pokémon Company have announced that the special Pokémon Daisuki Club app will be removed from the app stores on February 28th 2018. This app has provided a portal to access various parts of the Japanese Pokémon Daisuki Club website. This game is unique in that it has been edited for the Virtual Console it gives access to the previously unobtainable GS Ball to get a Level 30 Celebi in Ilex Forest. Two brand new themes have been released in Japan for 200¥ each. These themes each have a specific focus and Pokémon theme and both are based on Pokémon merchandise lines that have hit Japan recently.
The first is Pokémon: Team Plasma (BW) which features artwork of N, Ghetsis, the sages & Genesect with the Battle! Team Plasma music from Black & White
Next is Pokémon: Team Plasma (B2W2) which features artwork of N, Ghestis, Colress and other Team Plasma members. It has the Battle Team Plasma music from Black 2 & White 2. Both can be purchased for 200¥. Currently no international distribution has been announced

These offer the various version exclusive Legendary Pokémon in the games they weren't available in. A new patch is rolling out for Pokémon GO. This patch brings the game up to Version 1.59.1 and fixes a number of issues including a bug that sent you back up to the top of your Pokémon list, as well as adding a shiny Pokémon indicator on your Pokémon list, separators by region in the Pokédex and various other fixes. It is currently being rolled out on iOS and Android so should be available over the next few days

Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon - Special Battle Season 8
The Special Battle rules for Season 8 have been revealed. Season 8 will run from January 23rd to March 12th 2018 and runs on Sun & Moon and Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, with rankings separate to eachother. This ruleset allows for use of all Pokémon within the new Alola Pokédex Battle type: Single Battle Pokémon Restrictions: National Pokédex. No more than 1 of Mewtwo, Mew, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Celebi, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Jirachi, Deoxys, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Phione, Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin, Arceus, Victini, Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem, Keldeo, Meloetta, Genesect, Xerneas, Yveltal, Zygarde, Diancie, Hoopa, Volcanion, Cosmog, Cosmoem, Solgaleo, Lunala, Necrozma, Magearna, and Marshadow.
The other standard rules apply, including all set to Level 50 if above that, and you choose 3 Pokémon out of your 6, and you cannot have two Pokémon holding the same hold item. Battles have a 10 minute duration, with turns having a 60 second timer.

Detective Pikachu
The full retail copy of Detective Pikachu has been announced for Japan. This game is coming out on March 23rd 2018 and contains the first game, released in 2016, as well as more content to bring a conclusion to the narrative. It comes in a full retail package, but on the eShop you get a discount if you own the first game. In addition to it, a special Detective Pikachu amiibo is also launching on March 23rd. It introduces new characters not in the original one such as Brad McMaster, the police lieutenant and his Manectric and continues Tim Goodman's search for his father in Ryme City after he went missing
Edit @ 14:12: Confirmed for release in North America on March 23rd 2018 as well. It also explains that the amiibo unlocks hints through videos to aid in your investigation. It will allow players to view all the Pika Prompts from chapters they have completed, including ones they missed finding earlier.

Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon - Japan Championships
The Pokémon Company has announced the method of earning an entry to Worlds in Japan for VGC. Rather than how in past years you'd earn a place in a specific Online Competition, this timei t is done through the 2018 International Challenges on the Battle Spot. For the January, March & April International Challenges, players in Japan who place highly can earn entry to a special competition in life which determines qualification for the World Championships, which will be held on June 9th & 10th. TCG and Pokkén methods are to come later.

Pokkén Tournament DX - Downloadable Content
During today's Nintendo Direct, paid Downloadable Content was announced for Pokkén Tournament DX. This DLC comes in two stages, one available in spring and one later this year.
First is the playable Pokémon Aegislash with the Support Pokémon of Mimikyu and Rayquaza. It is live on January 31st with various new outfit designs. Rayquaza will cause massive damage but can only be used once per round. Mimikyu hits a few times and inflicts negative status
Next will be the playable Pokémon Blastoise with the Support Pokémon of Mew & Celebi. It is live on March 23rd
The season pass Battle Pack is available to purchase now on the Nintendo Switch eShop for Ł13.49/$14.99/€14.99/1852¥ and activates the Laurel Wreath backgrounds, some titles as well as a new outfit for Nia. A bundle of the game and DLC is also available on the eShop

P-Sports - Aim To Be A Pokémon Master
It has been announced that a new show is to start in Japan on AbemaTV. This how is called P-Sports Aim To Be A Pokémon Battle Master (P-Sports〜目指せ、ポケモンバトルマスター!〜) and is a show focused on Pokémon battles, featuring Yamamoto from Robert, previous co-host of Japanese variety show Pokémon Sunday and Pokémon Smash and Youtuber Hajime Syacho. There are four trainers including Yamamoto that people have to battle in the show to become the P-Sports Champion with a special trophy. It airs on Abema TV in Japan on January 24th at 20:00.

Pokémon Shuffle - New Patch
A new version update for Pokémon Shuffle has gone live. This brings the game up to Version 1.5 and includes a variety of new features
First up is a new Trainer Rank system that gives you various rewards based on the number of Pokémon that you have captured. These include Mega Speedups, Raise Max Levels and even Mega Stones. We're currently collating a list of full details. There's a total of 30 Ranks
It has also added new gifts obtaind via checking in regularly with it cycling through 15 different gifts: Hearts + 5, Moves +5, Exp. Booster S, Hearts + 5, Skill Booster S, Mega Start, Hearts + 5, Disruption Delay, Exp. Booster M, Raise Max Level, Hearts + 5, Exp. Booster L, Time + 10, Hearts + 10, Jewel
You can also now use Jewels to unlock batches of stages if you have yet to complete them so your progression is not hindered if you can't do some stages.
Finally, it also allows for you to use the team you used last time if you then change it, using a special arrow on the selection screen

Pokémon International Championships
It has been confirmed that the Latin America International Championships will be held from April 20th to 22nd 2018 at the at the WTC Events Center in Săo Paulo, Brazil in association with Copag. This follows on from the Oceania International Championships next month and European ones that were held on Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon's launch weekend in November. We'll provide more details as they come

Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon - Battle Competition
Details for the next Battle Competition have been announced. This is the 2018 International Challenge January competition. This is a Double Battle competition using standard VGC rules, with players being able to earn CP to go towards qualification for the World Championships.. All Pokémon will be raised to Level 50 for the duration of the competition. Registration runs from January 18th 2018 to January 25th 2018. Battles will run from January 26th through January 28th. All entrants will get the 50 Battle Points.

Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon - Global Missions
The second Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon Global Mission has begun. This Global Mission's theme is to win at the Battle Agency. The goal is to reach 100,000 wins by January 22nd at 23:59 UTC. If the mission is a success, then participating players get 2,000 FC or 4,000 FC if they have a Global Link account tied to their game while if it's a failure players will get 1,000 FC or 2,000 FC if they have a Global Link account tied to their game.

First is a new stage featuring Minior. This stage runs until January 23rd 2018

Finally, the Dialga, Palkia, Zekrom & White Kyurem stages have begun a repeat run

Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon - Rockruff Event
The Rockruff event is due to end globally on Wednesday. This Rockruff is Level 10 with the ability Own Tempo and comes with a Focus Band attached and the moves Fire Fang in Ultra Sun, Thunder Fang in Ultra Moon and Happy Hour. This Rockruff will evolve into the Dusk Form Lycanroc between 5pm and 5:59pm but can be bred to give multiple more Rockruff with Own Tempo which can evolve into Dusk Form Lycanroc. Be sure to get this distribution while you can

The next special Group Match has been announced on Pokkén Tournament DX. From January 19th through January 22nd you can participate in the Dynamic Fury Group Match. This cup is a Team Battle competition, once again on a Fixed Battle Arena. Participating in this brings a special title reward based on Machamp, and if you place highly you'll get other titles based on your placement.

The first qualifier for the 2018 Pokkén Tournament DX World Championships has been announced. As announced by ESL, the first qualifier will take place at the Oceania International Championships being held in Sydney next month on February 10th & 11th for VGC and TCG. There are 100 places for entry with the winners gaining the ability to play at the World Championships this August in Nashville, Tennessee. At present there's no full details from The Pokémon Company but we'll post as they come.

When Pokémon GO added Hoenn Pokémon last month, the Pokémon Zangoose and Seviper appeared to be exclusives to certain regions, with Americas and Africa getting Zangoose and Europe, Asia & Oceania getting Seviper. Overnight, however, they have appeared to have swapped with Zangoose appearing in Europe & Asia while Seviper has begun appearing in Americas and Africa.
