Electabuzz, The Electric Pokémon. When a storm approaches, it competes with others to scale heights that are likely to be stricken by lightning. Some towns use Electabuzz in place of lightning rods. It loves to feed on strong electricity. It occasionally appears around large power plants and so on. Normally found near power plants, they can wander away and cause major blackouts in cities. Battle Moveset A Good Moveset for Electabuzz would have to be this: Attacks:

Leftovers OR Preferred Nature: Hasty or Mild Strategy Using Electabuzz The main reason to choose Electabuzz over any other Electric type is the fact it gets Focus Punch and Cross Chop, meaning Snorlax, Blissey and Regice can't just switch in and ruin the parade. In a non-UU environment (even though this is a UU Pokémon), with proper prediction, Electabuzz can be pretty dominant. Choice Band is a bit of a crazy choice but CB FP or CC is nothing to laugh at and will make Blissey and Lax run and possibly get the KO, the downside is that Buzz is primarily special based and that CC/FP are it's only physical moves, meaning you're locking yourself into a single attack wit ha large possibility of having no gain from it. It also locks out Sub and TWave as options for the 2 free move slots. Thunderbolt is obviously Buzz's core special attack. The second reason to choose Buzz over any other Electric is the wide array of special attacks at its disposal: Elemental Punches, Psychic (probably the weakest choice but plenty of UU things are weak to it, making it a lot more viable for UU play rather than OU) as well as the generic Hidden Power. Sub-Punch is possible for those that cannot predict well, although Cross Chop can accomplish a similar thing without taking up two move slots. Thunder Wave brings a halt to any sweeper that it can affect. EV Corner:
EVs: 148 Atk / 108 Spd / 252 SAtk It's really up to the player and the team that Electabuzz is a part of to decide how it's EVs should go. With a +Speed Nature more EVs can be moved into Special Defence or Attack while with a +Special Attack nature it'll hit a lot harder. If you want to be able to take potential Surfs on the switch in Special Defence will be a necessity. Other Optional Sets
Electabuzz @ Petaya Berry Special Sweeper. Sub down to get the Petaya active and then sweep straight forward. If Baton Passed Calm Minds this has the potential to be very deadly, and with XD handing Baton Pass out like candy it shouldn't be too hard to find a suitable CM Passer to pair this up with. Without a CM Pass you'll need to wait patiently 'til the late game to pull off a clean sweep, until then pick things off with the 317 attack and versatile move set. Other Optional Moves Light Screen, Counter, Barrier, Quick Attack, Double-Edge. Screen helps take special hits and gives team support, but a lot of things can Light Screen who lack the versatile move set that Electabuzz offers, so you'd best slap the support move on another team-mate in most cases. Counter can kill off some things but there's very few Earthquakes Buzz can take before you get the clever idea to try it. Buzz will only ever pull off a single Counter with it's pitiful defence, and even then using Counter means you'll have to turn your attention with EV placement to HP and Def. Barrier… sucks, stat-up defending always brings Critical hits and without a means of self recovery Buzz will be slaughtered quickly trying to use it. It'll still take over 50% from strong Earthquakes with Barrier anyway. Quick Attack falls into Light Screens area, other things can do it and fill that role for you. Double-Edge could work with CB on the main set if you chose. Most of these other moves listed aren't worth it and only listed because they're decent moves and not because it's actually worth using them, but if you find yourself wanting to be original or surprising they may work out for you. Strategy Against Electabuzz Swampert is an obvious one when HP Grass is absent, Quagsire and Whishcash as well. Most Psychics with suitable Special Defence and no weakness to one of it's special attacks will easily wall it, especially with Calm Mind, things such as Grumpig and Hypno come to mind. If you lack a fighting move, Blissey, Snorlax and Regice will probably wall you easily. Faster Pokémon with Earthquake are obvious choices to wall it. When certain attacks are absent other random Pokémon wall it: Flygon, Claydol and some others without Ice Punch, Venusaur and Vileplume if there's no Psychic/Ice/Fire Punch, Celebi without an elemental punch. Plenty of things wall Electabuzz depending on the situation. A lot of things that aren't KOed by Buzz will force it to run since it doesn't take hits well, provided you can get them into play. Contest Moveset A good Contest Moveset for Electabuzz would have to be this for the Cool Contest best with Lonely, Adament, Naughty or Brave Nature: Attacks:
Thunderbolt Items Attached: Red Scarf Strategy Using Electabuzz If you do the attacks in this following order you should have very few problems; 1st - Rain dance, 2nd - Thunderbolt/Thunderwave, 3rd - Rain dance, 4th - Thunderbolt/thunderwave, 5th - Hyper beam Locations in Games
