Cramorant, The Gulp Pokémon. It's so strong that it can knock out some opponents in a single hit, but it also may forget what it's battling midfight. This hungry Pokémon swallows Arrokuda whole. Occasionally, it makes a mistake and tries to swallow a Pokémon other than its preferred prey.
Overview
Cramorant is definitely one of the more unique Pokémon in terms of design and concept. Its ability duplicates the gimmick in a unique way. After using Surf or Dive, it will change form and, then when attacked, it'll unleash damage on the opponent, doing 25% of the opponent's maximum HP indamage and either lowering Defense or, if in Gorging Form, paralysing the opponent. However, while the gimmick is a really fun one, Cramorant unfortunately lacks the stats to back it up
Positives
Its Gulp Missile ability can be useful at picking up some revenge KOs or preparing the opponent for an onslaught from your other team members
It has solid recovery options.
Negatives
Its Attack stats are mediocre at best
Its Defensive stats don't really allow for you to take good use of its ability
It has a 4* weakness to a very common type
Movesets
Gulp
-Dive
-Whirlpool / Liquidation
-Protect
-Roost
Item Attached: Leftovers
Ability: Gulp Missile
EVs and Nature:
252HP / 156 Def / 100 SDef
Impish Nature
For this set, we're going physical so choosing Dive over Surf for the activation of Gulp Missile. However, this does have a slight drawback of giving your opponent the opportunity to Protect from the damage. Next up for just pure damage, you have Liquidation as an option, or you can go Whirlpool to trap the opponent.. Protect can help you protect from suspected damage and Roost will let you recovery and temporarily remove Flying-type weaknesses such as Rock and weaken the Electric weakness
Partners
Cramorant appreciates partners that are able to switch in to the inevitable Electric-type moves it'll be susceptable to
Other Options & Team Ideas
While Cramorant's movepool is predominantly physical, you could go Special with Surf activating the ability and Ice Beam and Belch can be used, especially with Dynamax, to boost up the stats.
Countering Cramorant
Use Electric-type moves. No, really. If you go for a Physical Electric-type move, Cramorant will collapse like paper being torn in the rain. A Special Electric-type move has also got the likelihood of OHKOing it. Alternatively, Rock-type moves, which are predominantly physical, are likely to tear through those binge-eating bird
