Glaceon, The Fresh Snow Pokémon. By controlling its body heat, it can freeze the atmosphere around it to make a diamond-dust flurry. It causes small ice crystals to form by lowering the temperature of the surrounding atmosphere. As a protective technique, it can completely freeze its fur to make its hairs stand like needles. Overview Glaceon is close to Flareon and Umbreon is terms of being awful. However, it does have an amazing Special Attack and actually has moves to use the stat. Well, it has like... three moves, which is just enough. It's a shame it has just dire Speed, but that doesn't stop it from hitting like a truck. It's obviously very low tier as offensively it is a worse Kyurem. It doesn't really have anything worth using over Kyurem except for better abilities and some defensive options. It's a shame Glaceon has pretty much the worst defensive type around; Abilities Snow Cloak: you get 20% evasion in hail. That's pretty cool, but the next ability is way better. Then again, that evasion can luck win you some games. Movesets Choice - Blizzard How to use Glaceon; use Blizzard. Yeah, that's about it. Spam your hugely purely 100% accurate Blizzards at everything. Shadow Ball is a special move Glaceon has access to, so it is worth using just for that fact. Hidden Power [Fighting] is the best choice for Hidden Power as it means you aren't ruined by Steels. Baton Pass allows you to scout, Water Pulse is pretty awful but it's a special move, and Ice Beam so that you don't have to waste Blizzard's PP. Walrein? - Substitute Say hello to… awful Walrein! Substitute protects you from damage and status. Protect stalls Leftovers and Ice Body healing, and also allows Toxic to deal more damage. Ice Beam hits quite hard and stops you being Taunt bait, Blizzard hits crazy hard and stops you from being Taunt bait, Toxic allows you to outstall pretty much everything. Wish means you can heal your team mates and also means you can heal yourself in a pinch. EVs & Natures Every Glaceon Other Options Charm, Fake Tears, Frost Breath, Yawn Double & Triple Battle Options Use Blizzard and hail… yeah, that's about it. Glaceon has no business in doubles or triples… or singles really. Just stick to the standard Blizzard formula. Partners You need Stealth Rock away from the field at all times. Spinners, Xatu, Espeon, any of those work. Number one partner is obviously Abomasnow, as it brings the hail. Oh, other standard hail team members work well too. Removing Waters is an ideal move, so Abomasnow works great for that. You could also run an Electric type. Magneton would work in lower tiers as you want Steels gone too. Fires can also be a bit of an issue, especially for hail teams, so running a Water to take them on would be cute. Countering Glaceon If you can switch into it, you can beat it. Blizzard will hurt anything, but if you can take it by bringing in a Steel like Bronzong, Registeel, whatever, Glaceon will have to retreat. Changing the weather ruins Glaceon. Bulky Waters can take anything Glaceon has, as long as Blizzard isn't neutral on them. Any priority move except for Ice Shard will murder Glaceon. There really isn't much more for me to say… if you resist Ice, you can beat Glaceon. I don't think I need to go into detail about which moves to use against it because any moves except Ice type moves hit it hard. Glaceon is slow and predictable. If you see it on a team, it'll be choiced or… nope, it'll probably just be choiced. So switch to your Ice resist and take it down. It's a shame, because Glaceon can do some real damage… wish it was more useful. Oh well.
